Everybody thought it will be the end for SxOxB when Tottsuan their former vocalist and lifeline died painfully in a grotesque suicide. Tottsuan and SxOxB were considered the pioneers of grindcore by a number of current influential grindcore bands, and his death meant the end of a long legacy. Kevin Sharp of Brutal Truth supported them on vocals as they went on tour and the band stayed low until 1996 when they announced that their former bassist naoto (then frontman for ganja-influenced grind/techno/nonsense band Rise from the Dead) would be taking over on Tottsuan's duties. The band obviously went on a directional change after his inclusion, with more use of samplers and keyboards implemented into the act. They are currently signed to Specialized Fact of Osaka, and they have appeared in some events and gigs for a large part of 1998 thru 1999.

The new SxOxB is different than the last one, both music-wise and attitude-wise. They openly support to being in the 'fashionable and trendy' Tokyo 'hardcore' scene, playing with bands and in events commonly associated with fashion labels and streetwear i.e. the pos**r crowd, so don't be surprised. You have been warned.
